Abstrak	Pada tahapan ini,pengarang memberikan ringkasan atau inti cerita yang akan dikembangkannya menjadi rangkaian peristiwa yang dialami tokoh imajinasinya.Damhuri Muhammad menggambarkan seorang juru masak bernama Makaji yang sangat terkenal di kampungnya. Tanpa campur tangannya dalam meracik bumbu masakan, sebuah perhelatan akan dinilai tidak sukses karena tidak berhasil menyuguhkan para tamunya makanan yang lezat.begitulah pentingnya kehadiran Makaji dalam dunia masak-memasak di kampungnya itu , sehingga tidak ada bias yang menggantikannya
Orientasi	Pada tahap orientasi merupakan struktur yang berisi pengenalan latar cerita berkaitan dengan waktu,ruang,dan suasana terjadinya peristiwa dalam cerpen.Damhuri Muhammad menggambarkan pada beberapa tahun lalu suatu acara perkawinan Gentasari dengan Rustamadji,hamper saja batal,sebab  keluarga mempelai wanita yang semula berjanji bahwa semua urusan masak-memasak akan dipercayakan kepada Makaji.Namun baru hari pertama perhelatan ketika rombongan keluarga mempelai pria tiba aneka makanan-makanan yang disajikan bukan masakan Makaji
Komplikasi	Pada tahapan ini struktur ini ,kalian akan mendapatkan karakter atau watak pelaku cerita yang oleh pembaca ditafsirkan memiliki kualitas moral dan kecenderungan tertentu dan hal itu diekspresikan dalam ucapan dan tindakan tokoh.Damhuri Muhammad menggambar seseorang juru masak yang bernama Makaji yang sedang mengalami masalah,akankah dia ikut ke Jakarta bersama anaknya atau tinggal di sini untukmenyelesaikan satu kenduri lagi.Walaupun,dia sangat ingin bersama anaknya di hari-hari tuanya ini, lain halnya Azrial dia mengalamimasalah saat orang tua Renggogeni yaitu Mangkudun tidak merestui mereka berdua sebab perbedaan yang ada
Evaluasi	Pada tahap ini konflik yang terjadi diarahkan pada pemecahnya sehingga mulai tampak penyelesainya.Damguri Muhammad menggambarkan cara memecahkan masalah Azrial dengan rasa berat melupakan Renggogeni.Ia hengkang dari kampong pergi membawa luka itu
Resolusi	Pada tahap ini pengarang akan mengungkapkan solusi dari berbagai konflik yang di alami tokoh.Damhuri Muhammad menggambarkan seorang Azrial yang merantau dari Lareh Pajang.Dia pada awalnya hanya tukang cuci piring namun sedikit demi sedikit terkumpulnya modal agar tidak bergantung pada induk semang. Berkat kegigihan dan kerja keras, kini Azrial sudah jadi juragan Kini Azrial kerap disebut sebagai orang Lareh Pajang paling sukses I rantauoleh sebab itu dia ingin membawa Makaji ke Jakarta tinggal bersama,karena sejak ibunya meninggal,ayahnya hidup sendiri
Koda	Koda sama halnya dengan tahapan Abstarkn, koda bersifat opsional.Damhuru Muhammad menggambarkan perasaan Azrial,setelah mengetahui pujaan hatinya telah dipersunting orang lain betapa sedihnya Lareh Pajang ketika kepergian Makaji ke Jakarta dan tak akan kembali
